The Baseball Story!

My husband Gordie, was a baseball umpire for over 30 years.  He loved baseball and any time we'd be on a trip and anywhere near a stadium we were there.  Didn't matter if it was a sold out event, he'd get tickets from somewhere.

Our grandson Christian must have inherited his love for baseball from his grandpa.  He's been playing since he was seven.  He works at it all year long. Grandpa went to every possible game and set his chair behind the screen directly behind the umpire.  After the game if he felt the umpire did an outstanding job he would be sure to congratulate him.  If not, he'd shake his head and smile.

Christian is on the high school team but also played on a travel team "Mustang Arsonals," so we traveled all over the east coast to watch the games.   Shortly before Gordie died in January 2015 he said, "I guess I won't be going to Cooperstown. The kids were playing in a tournament there in the following July.  Christian hit 7 home runs in that tournament.

We think Grandpa was there somehow!
